Jewellery for Voss Foundation

I was approached by Voss Foundation the end of January 2014 about the possibility of designing and producing jewellery for them.

Trine, the designer of the Nijilii-star bracelet, had the idea from a visit to Kenya where she met the Samburu women with the Nijili stars on their forhead.  This is a reminder of their origin.  We used this as a basis for the Nijili star bracelet pictured below:

I have been handstamping jewellery for several years and words / expressions have been very popular with jewellery both in Norway and abroad.  Voss Foundation wanted the letters WiL on the back of the Nijili -star and when I asked what these words meant, they explained it was Water for Life and was from a poem from Everline, a Samburu girl.
Thus, I had the idea of a bracelet with the text:  Water is Life.
Here is the collection of bracelets produced for Voss Foundation
The bracelets are made in both sterling silver and 18kt gold plated sterling silver (i.e. with 3 nicron gold plating), and are available from VossFoundation.org
